Believe in yourself! Have faith in your abilities! Without a humble but reasonable confidence in your own powers, you cannot be successful or happy. – Norman Vincent Peale

Hey, Wealthy Fools!

I know that on this site we advertise being an entrepreneur, but we also understand that there is a process. Sometimes, that process involves working with, for, and at times under someone or a business.

Many of you have just finished undergrad or maybe you have been done with university or college for months now. You may be working in your ideal field, but many of you are not. I have had conversations with dozens of people who are still working part-time jobs in fields completely unrelated to their passions.

Why is this?

Well, there are a plethora of potential reasons as to why you aren’t making money in that career that you’ve studied for the last 4+ years. One of the reasons that are most important to me is your self-confidence.

I have been in various job interviews and I have gotten an offer from every single one (excluding Wonderland…but who really wants to work there in the summer anyways?). The core reason that I got offers from every interviewer is that I BELIEVED that I was deserving of it. I had the utmost confidence in myself and knew that if that particular job was meant for me, it had no choice BUT to be mine. If it was not for me, I would not receive it.

This did not mean that I was just convincing myself that either way I would be accepting of the interviewee’s decision. I have always been selective in where I applied, which just takes some common sense. If the job is looking for someone with 10 years of experience, I probably won’t be applying there. I probably would if there was a phone number for the interviewer and I knew that I could talk my way into an interview.

What this means for you is that in order to be one step closer to an offer from your favorite employer, you must (and I mean must) believe that the job is yours. “Hopefully if I am the most qualified for the job” does not cut it. This is not ignorance or cockiness. This is you putting out that positive and confident energy into the universe and your potential employer seeing that.

I have seen many people who were not qualified get jobs over those who were. Why? They carry an exuberant amount of confidence that an employer may not even see physically but feel by energy. Do not overlook the power of your energies and auras. We are human beings but we are made of more than skin and bones. We do have energies, and this is why you get that feeling that someone is looking at you from behind or that someone is super sketch when you first meet them. The same goes for interviews.

Building up your confidence will bring you very far. Build it up in such a way that if Elon Musk or Warren Buffett himself stood next to you, you would not feel belittled. Some people may think “yeah I already feel like that”, but there are 100 insecure people for every 1 person who feels this sort of confidence. Even outside of jobs, having this self-confidence will bring you to new heights. Explore who you truly are and grow to love yourself to the max, with or without that job.

Until next time,

Live Long and Prosperous.
