“Invest three percent of your income in yourself (self-development) in order to guarantee your future.” – Brian Tracy
When you hear “investing”, what do you think about? Probably money right? Well, that’s one aspect of investing but there is so much more to it.
So how will investing change your life?
Let’s think about what the basic fundamental of an investment is: sacrificing today for something greater and better tomorrow.
But Jahnome! I don’t have the money to invest!
LIES! You are already investing. If you go to work, you are investing your time in order to have the money to pay your bills and have some fun every so often. If you are in college right now, you are investing in your human capital – your capability to get paid better than those with only a high school education.
If you got a haircut, you are investing in your presentation and how others perceive you. As you can see, you have been investing your entire life!
How do these sorts of investing change your life? Well think about it, you have learned that to get something tomorrow, you have to do something today. Many people subconsciously know this but they don’t actively use it in their lives – they are just creatures of habit. They go to work because they have to. They go to school because they don’t want to waste their parents’ money.
If you actively realize that you are investing in your life, every decision you make will be more thought out. You will thank yourself in the future for all the things you avoided or passed on because you knew that doing that something that day would not make a better today.
And for what many of you want to know, yes, it will increase your wealth (lol). You will spend less money on crap and more on things that will bring value back to your life like courses, investments in stocks and real estate, things that will make you 10x richer tomorrow than you are today. The greatest in this world think 10+ years ahead. The average person doesn’t even know what they are doing a week from now.
Start or continue to take an active part in the investing in your life. Watch how your life changes in front of your eyes.
Until next time,
Live Long and Prosperous.
