“I think frugality drives innovation, just like other constraints do. One of the only ways to get out of a tight box is to invent your way out.” – Jeff Bezos

So, we may be witnessing the first every individual to have a net worth of $100 billion in the modern world. After Amazon shares climbed on Black Friday, founder and CEO Jeff Bezos saw his net worth rise to $100.3 billion, according to Bloomberg estimates.

Many people are ecstatic about Bezos’ accomplishment, while many are also criticizing him because of it as well.

One comment I read under an article about Bezos said the following:

“1 man has 100 Billion dollars – and there are thousands of people in the USA hungray and homeless. WTF? Making money is a good thing but?????????????????”

This comment struck a nerve.

The relevance to Bezos’ achievement could not be found. We live in a generation where those who have modest lives expect those who are creating businesses and creating jobs to be the modern day gods.

Of course, those who amass great wealth should help those without, but it is not mandatory to do it in the way that other people want. Many of these individuals help organizations who support the helping of whatever those people care about.

To criticize an individuals morals simply because they are richer than you is a poor representation of yourself. You do not know what these individuals do behind closed doors and you probably never will, unless THEY choose to disclose it.

Jeff Bezos does not go home with an annual salary of $100 billion dollars. The value that he has brought to the world has been valued at $100 billion.

Let us all as a collective stop looking to other people’s pockets to solve the worlds problems and begin to look in our own. Money isn’t the only way to help causes. Start understanding how the world really works so those comments will never have merit.

Until next time,

Live Long and Prosperous.
