Hello WF Family,
No longer will someone cough or sneeze with no one around being alarmed. No longer will we all be so care-free in regards to hugging and shaking hands.
Our lives as we know it will never be the same. While this is a scary time, we must stay strong and get through this with a fight. Our generation has never consciously experienced something like this and many of us will need assistance managing the trauma once this passes.
For the first time in decades, the whole world is fighting the same fight. Millions of us will have Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) from Covid-19 and it didn’t take us going to war to have this condition. Many of us will have lost loved ones or know someone who has. Let us mentally prepare from now to confort our loved ones and be present when they need us. Most importantly, allow yourselves to be open to comfort from others. We need it too.
Think about those in your lives right now and how lucky you are. Sit and watch that stupid Tv show your father wants you to watch with him. Help your mother with gardening even if you don’t feel like it. Do your sisters hair even though you’re busy. Play video games with your brother. Call that family member you’ve never had the time to speak to.
Don’t let them pass and you have regrets. This virus does not discriminate. So appreciate those in your life right now and together we will all look towards a better day.
And please…stay…home.
